QUESTION:
I have pain in the middle back under the lowest rib (left side only).
-It does not hurt always, but when it does it is hell.
-It comes in pulses. Increses (1 sec), then a peak of pain (~3 secs),
then it goes away (1 sec).
-It is internal. Like a expanding fist inside my body.
-Doctor made a blood analysis. He said it was OK.
-Doctor made a urine analysis. He said the sedimentation was OK.
-I don't urinate blood or painfuly.
-I am 32 and in good physical condition.
-It is more likely to happen when: sitting down in front of the PC,
walking slowly (shopping), driving, doing push-ups, doing pull-ups.
-It is not likely to happen when: mountain biking, running.
-If I lay down for a while it could go away.
ANSWER:
I would suggest you see a sports medicine physician whom specializes in
back pain problems. The reason I suggest a sports medicine doctor is
because many of them are orthopedic doctors and you appear to be in good
physical condition & active. I have used a sports medicine doctor on
and off a number of years ago and they are just as good as many pain
clinics (if you find a good doctor) if not better, because they
specialize in the human body, bones, joints, and how to correct problems
to get you active again. Back pain seemed to be a common problem I saw
others in the clinic were there for. I even used them for back & neck
pain after an auto accident 8 years ago. The doc was very liberal with
pain meds and their office helped me with strength training, etc, in my
back muscles to regain what I lost and with their treatment, my back
pain went away.
makes me concerned if it is NOT a back spasm. A "pulse", as like your
heartbeat, could be something vascular, rather than back of muscle
related. If it continues & is not relieved by muscle relaxers, get a
more in-depth examination by your DR. Good luck Stacie
