Colitis Ulcerosa
Does anybody knows something about the (causal?) relationship between
colitis ulcerosa and cataract and is there a link between cataract and
taking cortison?
Which alternative therapies exist treating cataract besides an operation
and which alternative possibilities exist to cure for colitis ulcerosa,
e.g. acupuncture (treatments with cortison and/or mesalazin-clysmen are
without any desirable effects so far)?
The person for whom I ask is female, age 65 and suffered from colitis
since february 1994 and from cataract on the left eye since june 1995.
I am interested in and greatful for all feed-backs about experiences and
treatments.
Yes, there is a common connection between taking cortison and the cataracta.
After a year of taking cortison (local or systemic) it can develop. You
can
stop the increasing if you stop taking cortison, of course a problem if
someone suffers from colitis.
