OT: As Seen On Tv ?

QUESTION:
I am SO SO suceptable to these tv ads, I don't know why. But the only good cartoons on are in Spanish and I don't know any and I'm supposed to be beading, not watching the screen to guess what's going on!

So...I am finding myself ordering a pain-relief system. A book comes with these strips you are supposed to use which they have been reading from and it sounds like some pretty impressive case-studies were done (although I am totally skeptical that the inventor is correct about why the things work). This has a 30 day money-back guarentee and the guy claims it should work extreemly quickly.

So, here is the deal. I am an idiot and have already ordered. I am going to try this for my RLS and see if it works. If it does, I will let you all know and I hope Kathy N-V and others try it! If it doesn't, I will let you know and you guys have to make sure I send it back for the money-back guarentee,

ANSWER:
My father often got sucked in by those ads. We got some good laughs out of it; him included. The most memorable one was the magic weed puller. They showed this lady dressed like June Cleaver out there, effortlessly pulling up her weeds. My Dad was out there in his Old white t-shirt, sweating his a-- off!!!

I learned to sew when I was waiting for my husband to get out of school. I was working with a bunch of women that sewed.

I've gotten a couple of things As Seen On Tv (they miraculously showed up in Walgreens where I worked for several years during college dispite dire warnings that they would never be seen in stores), and I have been happy with a couple (The Super-Chopper, especially in it's most recent incarnation, is a lot easier to pull out and use then a real grinder and a lot cheaper too, and Oxi-Clean works great on everything BUT laundry, and it did so BEFORE every other brand started putting the same ingrediants in... same with orange-oil spray stuff). A couple of others I think I would've been happy had I been able to figure out how to use them (a slicer set I gave to a friend who worked at walgreens to borrow. When she made perfect fries and sliced vegetables as advertized after I couldn't get it to do anything, I told her to keep it :) ).

On the other hand I really REALLY shouldn't be allowed my credit cards in the middle of the night (since we don't have cable,t his is all that's on!) I got a super-stripper powder for taking the finish off of wood for repainting or whatever, restoring old furnature. Now, I like old furnature, but we live in an entirely carpeted apartment, and I lack the patience and interest to do the detailed work involved in restoring everything. To this day I have NO clue what was going on in my head when I ordered that. But I know I have been really close to ordering other things that were nearly as useless for my needs.

We use it for whole chicken roasters, turkey breasts, and I think once a beef tenderloin. Everything we have cooked in this thing has come out stomp down delicious. It's moist and totally fabulous. I can't say enough good things about it. It only has one set back - it takes both of us to get it set up and half a dishwasher to get it clean, but we really do love it.
